ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    BB6 Prelude TypeS Pistons

Okk i have a H23a1.. Now i think i know the answer too this question but just wanna make sure im in the process of a rebuild on my h23 and was looking too put these type s pistons in it.. in the research all i got was that they were for h22.. but they can be used in my h23 with no problems correct?

same bore size. frm compatible. should work. the only problem would be if they are taller than the h23 pistons due to the longer stroke.

see andi was told that they have such little clearance that if there is any valve float it will bend the valves. but you dnt get valve float unless you have bigger cams?? so i don't kno if its risky or not..

You can have valve float with stock cams if you put the RPM's in around the red line on a set of 20 year old (lower spring rate) valve springs as well.

As for whether or not these will fit. The bore and material are no problem. H23?h22 are compatible that way. Now if you take into account that the H22 piston does have a 0.5mm higher compression height. They will give you approximately 13:1 compression in and give you 0.189" less piston to valve clearance in an H23 combustion chamber. also your piston will be 0.02" out of the hole. You could use a thicker head gasket to get back some of that clearance and drop the compression a bit though.

Ok soo do you think if i use a thicker head gasket i can pull this off. i have been doing a decent amount of research and your math is deffinately on point. its just i dnt wanna build this then mess it up and have too rip it apart again. this car is my daily right now.

Yes A thicker head gasket would work.

If you want to build it without messing it up you should clay the engine with the Type S pistons. You should also measure (cc) the pistons and combustion chambers to get your true static compression. That way you will know for sure. That way you can also calculate what head gasket and/or what octane gas you would need to run.

Look up PirateMcFred's build on HT. He did a very similar build that should cover all the bases you're wondering about.
