My left tail light works fine but when I hit the brakes it goes out. Any suggestions greatly appreciated already got pulled over twice because of it lol.

Check the fuses or wires? -
It's the bulb. Replace it. There are two filaments in there; a parking and a brake. When you hit the brakes, one goes out, the other comes on. Your brake filament isn't coming on, so either it's broken, or the nub on the bottom of the bulb base has worn away to the point that it's not working.Comment

Fuses are good, wires are all connected right, I know the ground to the bulb is a little loose but like I said the tail light itself still works fine, could that be it?Comment

I'm gonna go try that now, I looked at the filaments and they looked fine so I didn't try it.Comment

so it was not grounded that well. Good think it was not the whole brake light.Comment
