ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Yes it can be swapped on

Just remember that you need a pt6 ecu to run thoughs parts

He could still run it with the pt3, it's not that much more of an agressive fuel map. Now, if he puts the a6 IM on, then he would want to think about the pt6. I bought my car with a pt3 running the Stage 1 cam with no problems at all.

HOWEVER: If the head has been built; valve job, PNP, more aggressive cam, etc; a tunable ECU and a dyno tune should be done to get the most benefit and prevent damaging the engine.

Correct. A PT3 will run it, a PT6 would run it better... but if it's modified, then no stock tune will run it as it should be run. It will require a dyno tune to really pull all the power possible from it. However, the F22A head flows VERY well, so if it was properly modified, it'll be worth the investment.

All F22A heads are the same casting. The chunk of aluminum that is the actual head is the same between all SOHC F22A variants. It's just the cam, valve springs, and manifolds that are different.

if you do the head swap , it would be at your best intrest to put on a h23 intake manny on as well . to get the fully power , do it once and done.if you take the head off , you must take both manny's off.

A man that keeps looking back can't see whats in front of him.

thanks for all the info guys!

but i finally read this thread
            clickity click

startin to think about just stickin' with the a1 head and building it up.
or would putting on the a6 head bring more power?

Your only advantage would be the a6 cam and valve springs. If you are planning on replacing those in your build than just get an a1 head.

You're welcome for the info. It's a shame you didn't really understand it...

The heads are the same. The camshaft, valvesprings, and manifold are different. If you do any sort of "build" whatsoever, you'll be replacing all the parts that make the heads different... so it doesn't matter what F22A head you start with as a base.

In that case, the first thing you need to upgrade is your head. Learn about engines in general, then learn about your specific engine, THEN focus on how to make it better. You seem to be doing it backwards, and that's only going to end up costing you a lot of money, and getting poor results in return.

If you just ask for performance suggestions, you're going to get all the ignorant kiddies on here throwing part names at you. Half of them won't even know what they're talking about... so if YOU don't know, that could cause problems if you just follow them blindly!
