ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). 3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

Checked everything but still running on 3 cylinders! help fellas!!

Ok, now I know this is in the beginner section but i need help from everyone!!

Ok, so i was coming down for 711 thursday evening, i made a right turn to where i live (maybe 1/4 mile of distance) when all of a sudden one of my cylinders stoped working!! (f22a1 by the way, 5 speed).

ok, so I checked spark plugs and wires, they are all good! cylinder #2 isnt working...so i changed the plugs and wires, also the rotor and cap and still the same problem....

now, i was checking the other day on here, and i saw some threads that kinda regarded my situation... which funny enough i thought it was the injector...and that what i did, i changed the injector on #2, and still the same problem!!

I dont know what could be the problem!
    havent checked the compression, yet.
but the valves are lifting properly tho (took valve cover off and turn over motor)....

could the timing belt cause a problem like this??

any help would be appreciated fellas!!

Check the injector wiring on #2 and the resistor box.

well, the wiring on injector #2 is good, i think....isnt if the wire is bad woulden't it throw a code? and yes, i've been wondering about the resister box...but can that go out and cause just one injector not to work?

I imagine it could. You need to figure out if the cylinder is out because of fuel or spark.

Take the plug out of #2 and see if you have spark. If you do than try replacing that injector resistor box.

doesn't always throw a code. Similar if you unplug the injector. Check resistance between the plug at the injector to the resitor box. it all leads back to the box

check for spark on the plug and the wire, do a compression test it wil tell alot,

you may have a short in the wire for the number two injector

check the compression. its rarely for a injector to fail on a cb7. i dont think i ever heard of one yet. but you could unbolt the fuel rail and disconnect the coil wire. turn the motor over a cupple times. then pull out the injector and see if theres gas in the intake mani.

i think its a bent valve.

                    That's a pretty serious problem.

OP, hear any funny noises? Run the engine really high lately?

yea injector cant just go like that. timing belt could slip one or two teeth, and bam theres your bent valve.

Well, yea. I didn't think there was much gravity to that concern though.
I think you can test if the valves are hitting by:
removing your spark plugs, and cranking the engine by hand. Use a socket on the P/S. Look for/Listen for any metal clanking.
That'll only work if the valve isn't bent too far the other way.

Thanks so much for all the support fellas, I found my whole problem tho!!
The injector was good tho, the resistor box was a bit kinda messed up, the wiring to the injector was good, but I did a timing belt change tho...
i'll tell you, it runs alot better and no more 3 cylinder engine

                          no valves were bent!
