ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Newbie Torque Help

    Hello. Great site!

I am a newbie to this site and to CB7 cars. I have a '91 EX sedan with automatic. I replaced the rotten exhaust system with a eBay header to tailpipe set up. So I probably get bashed for that. However, the car runs good but seems to be weak on torque. I work on my own motorcycles and I know if you remove to much back pressue on the exhast side, torgue drops. Is that the same case for the F22A's? Besides this mod, the engine and airbox is currently stock.

If this is the case, what do you recommend for a budget fix for more torque?

i had that same setup awhile back, but didnt notice any loss in torque. but pretty cheap add on is a SRI( short ram intake ) better for response and a little torque not a lot but just a few more ft.lbs. sometimes even none. only real cheap "fix" not even really a fix, but it sounds cool.

    Turbo Setup: 100%

You can always just get better branded parts for your intake, headers, and exhaust. That would definately help with that.

Welcome to the site, you're not going to get bashed for an ebay exhaust. (or anything else in the beginner's section and rarely in the grown up section). You should take the time to read through the rules and such at the beginnings of the sections, it could save you a lot of time and trouble when you have a question.

Change out your intake, as previously stated. A 2.75" or 3" SRI with a quality filter will help some; a 2.5" exhaust doesn't really help much if you're not feeding the engine enough air to use it. Also, since it's a 20 year old automatic, it's not going to be really torquey. These CAN be beastly engines, but they do need to have some work done to them.
