ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

The problem is your master cylinder IMO...

I have never had as much trouble bleeding them as you have, and that INCLUDES not bench bleeding them. Of course, you know where my parts come from...

x2. If you remember my thread a new master cylinder fixed it. Unfortunately I took it to the shop...I would've done it myself but I needed my car the same day.

Yeah, I really shouldn't have cheaped out on the master cylinder. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I bought it!

I'll try the gravity bleed, and the syringe method first... since that doesn't require removing any of the hardlines. If that doesn't work, I'll try Chris's method. Then I'll replace the master cylinder with the Honda one I'll be stealing from my friend...

Not yet. Waiting for the stupid rain to stop long enough to get out there!
I'm about to run out now and see if I can find a syringe. Do you have a suggeston for what to buy?

I also found a battery filler (for batteries that take water). A giant turkey baster that looked like it might do the trick as well...

The one I used looks like this, got it at Canadian Tire.

Damn, no Canadian Tire in the US... and they don't have a US equivalent! I haven't found anything like that in the local parts stores. I don't know why... it seems like a useful tool!

Might find it at a hardware store or Wallmart.

Gravity bleed at A then close it,

Disconnect B and force the fluid until there's no more air coming out of the slave

Awesome. That's what I thought visualpoet was saying, but it eases my mind to see the picture to be sure! Thanks man! If this works, I'll be able to drive my CB again after 2.5 years! At least, until the engine starts burning oil from sitting so long...

Also try working the slave cylinder with a prybar to get the air out that was the problem for me.

I couldn't figure out how to do that. That fixed it for my friend, too!

Anyway, I yanked the master cylinder. I'm replacing it with a good new Honda one.

Now I need to figure out how to bench bleed it properly!
Of course, I didn't bench bleed the slave...

I couldn't find a syringe anywhere. I used a battery filler thing... like a turkey baster. It didn't work.

I'd assume it's similar to bench bleeding the brake master cylinder.
Put the flanged end in a vice. Run tubes from the out holes up into the reservoir. Fill the reservoir. Use a Phillips head screw driver to pump the hole the piston would go into. Keep pumping slowly until no bubbles come out of the tubes.

All else fails, you could head up to Harbor Freight to buy a Mityvac vaccum pump for bleeding brakes, use it and then return it. Just make sure to clean out the clear lines before you return it.
