ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    grindage with 5spd

got a problem with a bit of grinding in 2nd, and in some cases 3rd, when the car is still kinda cold car shifts fine through the gears but when its all warmed up it grinds into 2nd, however it wont when i shift at a low rpm or double clutch... possibly be a bad sync or throw out bearing? or maybe something else? gladly accept any suggestions and/or advice

My car has the same problem, I'm hoping its a throw out bearing since I already have one haha but it is most likely a synchro

A bad throwout bearing would have nothing to do with grinding gears. When that goes bad, you'll basically stall your car the minute you press the clutch pedal in.

The grinding is due to worn synchronizers. Change your fluid with Honda MTF or GM Synchromesh, and it may alleviate the problem for a bit. It won't fix physically worn parts, though.

im hoping its the throw out bearing also.. cuz if it is a synchro, ive heard that they're not that expensive but the work is.. if it comes to that might as well get a tranny from the junkyard

Our Accord are 20 yrs old cars so the synchros are pretty much going away... get a new transmission or get your trans rebuilt.

I say time to upgrade to a prelude transmission.

92-01 prelude ... dont get the SH transmission unless you're willing to do the work.
Most will required you to drill and tap three hole on the prelude transmission so you can mount the tranny in your Accord. All wirings should be the same if not just transfer your accord wires over.

Don't get the SH transmission, period. It won't fit.

And it is NOT the throwout bearing. I don't know who put that in your head, but trust me... it's not the problem. Look up the function of a part before making assumptions.

where on the transmission is the code located? and i also thought about the throw out bearing for a while til i started looking up some stuff... so the m2b4 prelude transmission will fit just right on the f22a4 and change some wiring pretty much

What wiring are you expecting to change?

When we say the SH transmission, we mean the transmission from the Prelude SH. The ATTS unit.
No transmission codes have been mentioned in here until you mentioned the M2B4. The code will be located on a decal on the case.

Try changing your fluid first... (with HONDA MTF as mentioned above) It may relieve some of the problem... It helped my 5 speed in my sedan greatly after changing the fluid a few times....
