ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Loud squeak, partly identified.

The car has been squeaking (while turning the wheel and somewhat during braking), very loudly from somewhere near the right front tire. It doesn't squeak when the car is jacked up. I've located the squeaking to the area circled in red (when that lower arm pushes against the piece above it). So, would you guess that the part above the lower arm is the actual source that I need to take out? (No, the nut below isn't missing, I just took it off).

I just looked at the other side and noticed there's supposed to be a cover between those two pieces, so maybe it's just dirty? Though, the steering wheel does vibrate a little more than it should on the freeway.

Looks like you need a lower ball joint.

hope your not missing that nut and you took it off. that would suck if the ball joint came out of the hole while driving.

Thanks for the info. I'll replace the lower ball joint then.

Don't run out and buy the cheapest balljoints. OEM Honda ones are listed at $25 each (even cheaper online) and are well worth the money. Although I don't usually have problems with their other stuff like gaskets, Beck Arnley and Mevotech balljoints don't last at all.

While the car is jacked up, check for play at all the other joints.

Definitely check all your other steering, suspension, and brake components while you're at it... failing ball joints can be a disaster, as can tie rods, and of course brakes. Better safe than sorry.

I have the same exact problem I bought the new parts and was wondering how much would a alignment be (if I need it)?

For alignement if only change ball joint normally you dont need because its not part of direction. if you change tie rod in this case maybe you will need new alignement.
