So I'm starting to acquire some parts for a turbo build later in the year. Found a 95 ex im. On craiglist for $25. Would that be a straight swap or mods needed and also would it even be enough of a hp gain to be worth it...was thinking after the turbo is on a better flowing im wouldn't hurt.

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

95 ex intake manifold

i know you can put an h23 intake manifold onto an f22b1.
its a significant downgrade even if it did fit, which i think it does, considering the other options available, including, h23, f22b dohc, a6 runners and h series plenum. its likely the worst option.
if it did fit, and you HAD to have such a manifold, go with the f23a1, bigger plenum and throttle body, close if not the same size runners as the f22b1
intake manifold gasket for f22b1 vtec
intake manifold gasket for f22b2, non vtec
intake manifold gasket of f22a1, the plenum gasket is not important, we are only looking at the head to manifold gasket
i cant compare very well on the f22b1 vtec manifold gasket, (i could if i really wanted to), but the f22b2 and f22ax look like the mounting holes are perfectly lined up, (hence why you can put an h23 intake manifold on the f22bx sohc), but as you can see the ports are very different, they are in the same position, but the f22ax is wider, more ovular, while the f22bx are more circular. and the water port looks like it could be way off, or its closer than it looks, because of the thinner runners on the f22bx's
pictures sourced off of autozone website
one benefit of running an f-series vtec, (f22b1 and f23a1) intake manifold, is that you can bolt an h-series throttle body to it. however, that bolton is negated if you did an h23 intake manifold swap for an f22aLast edited by KB7; 05-07-2011, 05:22 AM._

It would be best for you to wait and shop around for anything other than an F22B1-2 IM. Here are a couple reasons not to use the B1-2 IM on an F22A* head.
1. The thermostat housing on the F22B1 & 2 engines it is mounted directly to the IM. Therefore the F22A* thermostat and cooling tube in the back would have to be swapped out or the B1-2 IM would have to be tapped and welded in order to fit a cooling hose barb.
2. The ports aren't any where near the same shape. The IM would require significant porting to match the F22A head if you want any gains.
F22A* on the left and F22B1-2 on the right

3. The F22B1 & 2 upper plenums are both the same and they are smaller than any other F22/H22/H23 IM out there. Now were you are going boosted the flow of the IM probably isn't as big of a concern, however just an FYI. The F22A and H23 IM both flow better, and in turn, result in better throttle response when used on an F22A*.Last edited by GhostAccord; 05-07-2011, 09:00 AM.

There really is nothing that the F22B1/2 engines have to offer that is a performance upgrade to the F22A series. Don't be fooled by "newer".Originally posted by midnightpearl91 View PostThat's a sizeable difference betweens those ports! I think that's the setup I will go with (h23/a6 and tb). I guess I was thinking the f22b im might have been better because it was slightly newer but the ports look A LOT better on the a. Thanks for the help guys!

The only upgrade between the F22B1-2 and the F22A1-6 is a bit better fuel economy and maybe some more fuel economy with the fuel minded B1-VTEC....
Definitely no performance upgrades. The F22A was designed with performance in mind because it was shared with the Prelude of the day. Very soon after the introduction of the DOHC VTEC H22 in the Prelude the Accords SOHC F22 went in a different direction.

ThanksOriginally posted by midnightpearl91 View PostBtw ghost I like the design in your sig. Would make a cool tattoo lol.
It has been worked into the sleeve that I have been designing with my tattoo artist....
The rendering in the sleeve artwork doesn't have the Honda "H" or "Ghost Accord" in it though. I'm not sure if I'm going to include that or not. Honda has been part of my life for over 15 years now. I could probably give them some props. However, I don't think my forum user name will make an appearance..
