ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

A little help with this noise!!

Well this noise just started today and not sure if it's coming from the belt or a bearing. Oh and it gets louder as you rev it up.

damn. my cb just stated doing the same thing! thanks for making a vid.

it sounds rhythmic. and from the close up shot of your timing belt (i think thats what it was) it looked to be moving side to side with the rhythm.

usually when im in situation like these were i have a noise. i just take it to a shop and have a pro hear it. if he knows his shit he would be able to tell where its coming from and maybe even why with no charge. if somehow you fall into their traps and end up paying some cash its your fault.

Having someone look at it in person is going to be a lot more helpful than having someone watch a video and try to diagnose the sound that way. Taking it to a pro is honestly one of the best pieces of advice you're going to get... unless you want to start randomly replacing parts until the noise goes away.

Turn your wheels back and forth and see if it changes the sound. It may be the P/S Pump. Seemed to me like the sound was more audible there. If not take off your drive belts one at a time and see if the noise remains. You should have the answer after that.

im know expert but its coming from the timing belt. you can clearly see it moving side to side and making that noise. have your mechanic check the tensioner and the belt itself...good luck man, i think honda advises changing timing belt at 90k miles on most cb7's? so if its never been done that might be it

Probably the timing belt rubbing against the inside of the lower cover. If you are going to do the work yourself you are going to ahve to remove the crank pulley and the bottom cover to do a more thorough inspection. Probably a good time for T belt & B belt change.

does the noise change when you turn the wheel side to side?

i wnt through a few steps today. and found out the harmonic balencer was coming apart and rubbing on one of the belts.

it sounds like your water pump bearings are shot causing the shaft to wiggle. that may be why your timing belt is moving with the noise

No it doesn't , I took off the two belt to try to find the noise but did not, it is still doing the noise but not insync with the belt anymore. It is time to change the belt so I'm going to do this and the water pump too. I will not have the b/s belt anymore so one less thing to worry about.
