ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Header question

I have found a new muffler and installed it, but it doesn't sound how I believe it should sound. I am wondering if I need to change the exhaust system to make it sound better and perform how it should. I have found a header on ebay (http://tinyurl.com/3atsc2t) ,but no cat back yet. I have read some threads on headers from ebay and they say there are problems with them, but this one looks fine I think. I guess what I am trying to ask is, is this worth it?

A lot of members on here will tell you too street away from cheap ebay headers, and some will tell you to buy it. All i have to say is, you get what you pay for. A lot of people who have ebay headers have the flex pipe rot out with in a year. Many complain of leaks and fitment issues. If you do decide to go this route I suggest getting new Felpro gaskets for the system. If you search the forums there is a thread that talks about modding a subaru gasket for the connections between the header and the down pipe. I mention this because this gasket has rubber o rings built into the gasket.

Yes you should do the entire exhaust system to achieve the proper sound and performance.

This isn't directed at anyone, just a statement. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AN EBAY HEADER!!!!! There are a lot of different brands of headers on ebay, some good, some bad. You want to look for a thick mounting flange and good welds and preferably a stainless or ceramic coated header. you also might watch craigslist. I see at least one or two a month around me for sale, and it's how I got my full Spyder Automotive header and exhaust for free.

Cheap will sound cheap. Cheap will perform cheap. You definitely get what you pay for. If all you did was slap a muffler on your stock 1.75" piping, then yeah, it'll sound like shit. Get some 2.25" piping.

Its a good deal for a stainless header header, It might crack on you because its so cheap but your catback will control the sound of your car. Its a cheap 5+ hp.

I doubt a cheap header will give 5+hp... especially if the exhaust piping is still stock diameter. A cheap header can also produce a rasp.

Maybe vs a f22a1 or f22a4 stock header because they both suck but Idk if its on the f22a6 because it comes with a good flowing exhaust manifold stock.

i think the best sounding honda is a quiet sounding honda. you may need to do more research on what kind of muffler you want. ive tried magnaflow, World sport and greddy evo mufflers and eventually went back to stock with an exhaust dump at the collector.

Any muffler shop could do that for you. Or www.kteller.com sells them pre-bent (though my friend just got piping from them and the bends were wrong...)
