ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    propane in your ac system

So I met this guy today and he knew alot about hondas. He was telling me that you can evac your car ac system and add pag oil and you can charge it with propane. He was saying its easier on your compressor and it gets colder.
I know fridges in rv and stuff run on propane. what Is known about this?

I've never heard of that. Propane is so combustible that I'd be nervous to put that in my AC system, even if it does work.

Well like I said I have seen rv's that use propane to run there fridges.
So the pressure from the bottle must push it threw a condenser and it must cool so I dont see why it wont work in a car.

It works, and people do it. In fact, some official refrigerants are hydrocarbon based. Yes, they are flammable. Yes, they can explode. No, it's not likely. No, I don't recommend it.

it does work, actually it works very very good
but is not colder, your a/c system has a thermo switch and its set a 50degs, anything less than that, the system will turn off the compressor so it aint colder

the pressures are different, so who knows whats the right pressure on low/high side

come on man its, propane...... my wife is mainly the passenger on my car, being that the evap unit is on the passenger side, you do the math

i aint going to say i will never rear-end someone but.....shit happens

I'm a universally certified HVAC tech, and I've never heard of it. I wouldn't even try it.

drier, and clean all the oil out of the system, like a full retrofit but instead use prop

                wet charge

if it doesnt work, you'll need a new drier probably do the whole thing again

So it would just get cold really fast then the compressor will kick back and relax untill needed Aegean .

Using propane doesn't even sound safe. That just seems crazy.
