Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

OEM Auto shift knob mod possible?

    Hello guys,
I got an auto 90 accord LX. The shift knob is big and tall. It covers my touch screen 5.8" Pioneer. I want to keep the same shift knob but mod it to make it shorter to see the screen better? Is this possible without effecting the shifting mechanism? Has any one done it? I want to keep my Sport button thus keeping the OEM knob.

    Thanks.

      Thanks G,
If I reduce the height of the shifter, would that effect the shifting mechanism? I just want to reduce the height and keep the same auto knob for the sport button.

Doesn't affect anything except the height. I've shortened the stalk on many autos, mine and friends' alike.

I shortened mine and nothing changed with the function still works the same.

Which type of pipe cutter would you use to shorten the shifter?

Trouble taking off the OEM knob.

                Hey guys,
I tried to take off the knob and having trouble of taking the whole thing apart. I took the 2 side screws off and the spring loaded silver came off easily with the spring. When I pull the big knob up to try to remove it, there's a black cable run all the way down but I am not sure how to completely removing the knob? That black cable must be for the sport button. How do I take that apart for those who has shorten their auto knobs?

                Thanks.
