ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    cruise control not working

i had an issue with my brake lights staying on. until i figured out what was wrong and fixed the problem i just disconnected my neg. battery cable wherever i went. turned out the little rubber thing that hold the brake switch depressed all the way had broke off. so i just put a screw in it's place.

so now that my lights are not always on, i figured my cruise control would start working, but that's not the case. check the fuse and it was good, but i don't know what else to check to get it working again. the little button you press on the dash glows green when cruise control is on, but when i press the button on the steering wheel nothing happens.

so now i'm not sure where to go from here.

Do you have a manual or an automatic?

The problem is actually similar to your brake light issue.

On the clutch pedal, up almost under the dash, there will be a hole where a little grommet went. Put a bolt/screw in there, and it will work.
Basically, without that grommet, the car thinks your holding down the clutch pedal.

              This might help!

Heres the electrical diagram for the cruise control:

My cruise didn't work but the light came on when you pushed the cruise button, turned out to be the missing plug on my clutch pedal. The manual cruise switch is on the clutch pedal at the top of the pedal on the drivers side of the pedal not the firewall side. It's pretty easy to put another plug or small screw\bolt into the hole
Also check under the hood and make sure it's plugged in and the vacuum line is connected these two items are a must have for cruise to work.

I have the same problem: Cruise light turns on and no cruise control function. You guys mean the hole is on the clutch pedal "arm" itself? Or under the instrument panel? Any pics for a noob?

If I remember right there's a plug under the hood near the driver side headlight. That came unplugged on me once and my cruise stopped working but the green cruise light on the dash still came on.

Yes, on the arm itself. It will look kinda like the brake switch.

Thanks I check a plug right at where you're talking about. It's connected to the cruise control "toilet plunger" looking part. I unplug and replugged it.

Thanks, I couldn't really tell where the hole is but I did find the arm and took some pics. Can't you point it out?

oh wow, thanks for the diagram.

@Stephan83 your gonna need to move the seat all the way back and actually stick your head under there and look up, and if you press the pedal's in you will the switch come out. it's an uncomfortable position but you'll see it

I never even used my cruise control. So I took it out and used a dx block off plate for the switch. I dont see any need for cruise control. I want to be in control not my car in control.
