ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Smoking while in reverse

So i have always noticed that whenever i put my car in reverse and begin to back up my car smokes excessively. I always though it was weird but now i'm wondering if something may be wrong. It does it almost every time i back up. Has anyone else had this problem or am i just over reacting..
BTW my car is a 5-speed.

I thought this was about burning rubber
But no, I have not heard of this. Mechanically not a lot changes from going forward.

Where does the smoke come from?
What does the smoke smell like?
    Does speed make a difference?
Does it happen more or less on a incline/decline?
Do you have any leaks underneath?

The smoke comes from the muffler.
The smoke looks a little blue and smells like oil.
It does it whenever i start in reverse, and every time i gas it a little while backing up.
And it doesn't matter, it's happened in store parking lots before on flat surfaces.
And yes i know i have I leak from my drain plug.

The fact that you're going in reverse should have absolutely no influence on your engine burning oil. You have an internal leak somewhere, be it seals or piston rings.

Ya, i was about to say that it probably happens in forward too but you can't see it or smell it because your going forward

Reminds me of a story I heard of someone issue where everytime they got off the highway and came to a stop their car smelt like eggs But they only smelt it when they came to a stop.
Answer = the smell is catching up with them.

Ok that's a good point, i feel a little slow now
But i'll prob check my spark plug tube seals sometime today. I really hope its not my piston rings.. But thanks for the feedback guys
