ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Knocking sound while turning left

So as the title reads I have a knocking sound while turning left. I think it might be the drivers side cv joint ,but I am not for sure. The right axle shaft, and the upper control arms on both sides were replaced a few months ago. I have read about this on the forum and people are saying different things. So what do you think the problem is?
    Thanks!

It could definitely be a CV joint...and there's a lot of movement when turning left to the wheel hub, now is it a knocking sound or clicking sound?

CV joint are easy to replace and inspect, just make sure you install it right when your done inspecting...usually some are loud even on a straight drive cruise. And does is make noise when you go over a bump? Does it affect your driving? Wobble or does it rattle sometimes?...

It makes the knocking sound when going over bumps when I am driving straight. I will probably have my mechanic replace it so I don't run into future problems.

Definitely replace it. A new/refurbished axle is about $55, and you can put it in with basic tools.

I once drove my old 1990 Civic about 200 miles (highway mostly) with a broken cv joint. You could cruise along at 65, and about the time you got steady momentum the cv would pop out and the axle would spin independently from the wheel.
So I threw it in neutral, and it would pop back in and I would continue until the next time. Made it home though! (Honda, ya know)

My point: Its an easy and inexpensive fix. Better to play it safe.

I dont believe a failing CV joint makes noises on a bump or straight. They usually and almost always start making distinct noises (click click click) on a turn only.

I have to agree with Accord Problems above, I too exprienced this and it was the sway bar bushes that had dissappeared (hardened, then cracked and finally fell away) over time, creating noise on a bump (as they were not loose).

I too have replaced sway bar link bushes and that has greatly reduced the noises made on a bump ( I have other suspension issues that need attention).

It is definitley the cv joint. The boot is pretty much off. The seal must be broke. I found a good youtube video to replace it. Thanks for the input!
