ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    90mm h22 block

Hey guys, was wondering what you guys think about a darton sleeved block with 90mm pistons.Reason for asking is,i can buy this setup but i want to boost it.I have all the turbo parts I need.I know 90mm is usally used with n/a.Just wondering if it can be boosted without any problems. Thanks in advance.

    Anybody have any opinions?

Probably not a good idea for boost. There's a reason Darton doesn't bore to 90 for turbo applications.

It certainly isn't IDEAL for boost, but for the sake of understanding what your goals are a bit more, I want to know your specifics.

What amount of boost do you intend to run?
How much will you be getting the shortblock for?
And I guess I should ask if it is indeed a complete shortblock.
Is it a 50mm or 55mm main block?

If your goals are to boost below 15 pounds then it shouldn't be much an ordeal. Typically people who want to sleeve a block for boost have goals set a little more lofty than 15 pounds so the recommendation to stay 89mm and under is with that consideration in mind.

That sounds like a build I would be a big fan of. A bit on the expensive side though considering you're buying someone else's project.

What pistons and rods come with the block? $1,500 for a MID sleeved bottom end is a pretty good deal. I would N/A that bish all the way!

My thoughts exactly. But since he was looking at it from a boost perspective I would assume it had boost friendly pistons in it. But that setup would be right at home in my car.

Yeah I try not to ass-u-me anything these days.

Knowing what the cc of the dome/dish and the compression height of the pistons would be useful info.
