ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    unwired buttlerflies???

So I recently intalled the OEM intake mani on my f22b .it was running for a year with my f22a1 so I got the help to intall it. Since then my idle its been all weird (too high) on cold start. Before I swapped mani my car was starting fine but rpms were ridiculously low on cold start (had to keep my feet on the gas pedal for 45sec or so) so I can stay on so due to that issue I decide to intall the right mani. Ive been posting ?? Here of why my idle is so high and then it goes up and down like crazy. I've done everything I've been told to check (vacuum leaks, bubble in the cooling system etc.. so my question is can the fact that my butterflies are NOT connected yet ?since I'm having problems translating it in my head lol (note I'm puertorican ) but not completely fluently in English so here and there i still strugle. And I'm still using the f22a1 (pt3 ecu) ?? NOTE once the car is warm and ready to go I have no issues No CEL ether ..any help please I'm giving up on my lovely cb9

Your fast idle thermo valve is out of adjustment. I am not sure what intake manifold you're using but the FITV will either be on the far right of plenum (F22) OR under the throttle body (H series). If it's set up like stock, you'll have 2 coolant lines going to it and no electrical connectors, so do not mix up w/ idle air control valve (on plenum, left side) Remove end cap (2 8mm headed cap screws) inside you'll see a white plastic cap, thread this in/tighten. You can get by w/ 2 flathead screwdrivers. You'll probably have to dial in the cold idle, so play around w/ the adjustment on it. You can idle the motor w/ the metal cap off, will no affect setting, that way you can adjust w/ the motor cold and running.

butterflies in the intake mani are run by vacuum homie. The vacuum diaphrahm might have gone bad if you think its be secondaries. I would just do another once over of your IACV and FITV. A deep one.

Also look into cleaning/blocking the EGR valve and those ports. If it still happens you may have a vacuum leak in one of the gaskets holding the intake together so start checking those out.

could easily be from the same thing. Cold starts use excessive amounts of fuel, add an unaccounted for volume of air and you have a high idle.

Try cold starting/idling the car w/ the intake off. Plug each of the 2 holes in the bore of the t/b, 1 at a time. Any diff. in idle at all? Also try this when she's @ operating temp too. Top hole is IACV, bottom is FITV. W/o a vacuum leak, there's really only 3 possible inlets: t/b butterfly, IACV, FITV, and maybe air boost valve if it's there.

Doesn't hurt to mention this, but the 2 screws that secure the t/b butterfly to the shaft are in place right?

thats good and all but wat did you expect from spraying soap everywhere... your looking for vacuum leaks so it will not show bubbles... the best way to find a vacuum leak is a tester but also you can spray carb/throttle fluid and see if the motor does any changes... leave the soapy spray for finding air leaks in tires or anything that has pressure coming out... it looks like it is the IACV or a leak you havent found... vacuum lines are everywhere!
