ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Red oil light comes on

    Hi All

Recently I have noticed my oil light comes on. I notice this mostly on warmer days, after 1-2 hours of motor use(driving) . My temp meter reads fine, it's usually stays just tiny bit above halfway. I check tranny and engine oil daily, along with coolant level. It blinks when I'm driving, and when I come to a stop, the lights stays solid.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance

check your oil pressure sensor and the connector, it's right above your oil filter with one wire going to it.

You are looking to see if the wire is attached, or if the sensor is falling apart (AKA the metal post coming out of it is loose to touch) The sensor is making the light come one, therefore you want to check to make sure the sensor is hooked up and working properly.

How meny miles are on the engingen? You could have the same problem I had where the motor is wearing out and it needs a bit thicker oil to keep up the presure.

If you still have low oil pressure when you change your timing belt next time, you could change your oil pump to reboost your pressure back up.

Or if your oil pump is cloged. That will cause it.

Ok, I use 5w30 and it has 170,000 miles. Anything I can pour into engine to clear the oil pump?

It's usually the sump that clogs not the pump. Easiest thing to start with would be the pressure sensor or oil sending unit on the back of the block then proceed from there.

The pressure sensor is the one located above the oil filter, correct?

Ok lemme check it out. But I doubt it's loose, because the light only come on after continuous driving.
