ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Sludge

Im just curious if sludge in the sump and the oil pick-up would cause low oil pressure only when hot. Im using 5w30 and some oil treatment so it should be about 10w40, but I get about 8psi at idle when "HOT" when its cold or when I raise the rpms the oil pressure is really good. Would sludge in the sump and oil pick-up cause that or is it bearings. It is a f22a1 with 173,000 miles.

Sludge itself could cause a problem if bad enough.

Are you sure there is actually a problem though? - http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=186323

the manual says I should be getting 10 psi at idle at a minimum with 5w30 oil im using 10w40 so I would think it should be higher. I was getting the oil to come on at idle as well. I just thinking of easy things to check. I do have a dent right in the sump on the pan could it be close to the pump?

honestly 8 psi isn't terrible, a lot of cars have it that low but as long as the oil pressure rises with rpm then it is good. whatever damage has already been done.

ok thanks that the kind of answer iv been looking for. It does tick at idle, but all these cars do.

One other thing is this morning it was about 2 degrees Fahrenheit and it took about 2 seconds to build oil pressure and it ticked but then the sound went away, I know that is because im using a thicker oil, but could it have cause a lot of damage. It felt like forever lol.
