valve cover gasket recommendations

Any good valve cover gasket brands out there anybody would like to recommend to me

Can't go wrong with a genuine Honda gasket BUT a lot of people on here are on a budget so they might get a Felpro kit as it comes with a bunch of other gaskets like the upper spark plug seals. When i replaced mine a few years back, i think that kit from NAPA was only like 15 bucks and they had it on hand.

I don't really see the need for the glue on the corners

i put mine on without it, it was slightly harder ( not by much ) and it doesn't leak at all.

It's a safety precaution. Easy enough and cheap enough for the added protection. Especially if using a non-OEM gasket.

I only use the sealant because that was what my father, who was a Firestone mechanic for 20 years, taught me. He never said why i should apply the stuff there, he just said i needed to put it there.

I've dealt w/ FelPro VC gaskets on several occasions but lately I've noticed a drop in quality w/ them. On the VC gasket itself they no longer have the "nubs" that squish and hold the gasket tightly in the VC itself. Go to flip it over and gasket falls out of VC, very annoying. Eric the car guy has said the same thing but didn't outright say it was felpro but you could tell on the vid. Other than that, they've been okay @ 1/2 the price of all Honda parts.

x2 The dealer is the way to go bro. OEM parts beat Autozone and Napa all day.

ive had the felpro one on the car for almost 2 months and i did not use the glue.

i also cleaned the grooves where the gasket sets and ive had no problem with it.

I also used the felpro gasket without putting on the glue and it works fine to this day no leaks or problems of any kind.
