ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Any generic chip won't do anything for your engine, other than potentially damage it.
And 60hp? Bullshit. No single modification will EVER give you that much. Aside from a turbo, supercharger, or nitrous kit, there are no single modifications that will give you more than 10-20hp in most cases. Any time something simple advertises big gains, assume it's a lie... because it is.

It increases my power and fuel economyand lowers my emissions at the same time? Shit, what was honda R&D doing? All they needed was this little chip.

Ha lol true.. The only reason I kind posted it was because I couldn't believe that this company was legally allowed to advertise such false info? That's crazy how they rip people off and still run this company

All they need to do is show that their little chip can do each of those things for some car on the market, and then advertise it as "up to". For example, if you lean out the fuel mixture and up the boost on an SRT-4, you MIGHT see a 60hp gain (it won't be good for the engine, nor will it improve fuel economy or emissions... but the hp is there.) If you dangerously trim the fuel mixture for a Prelude VTEC, you MIGHT see a 20-25% increase in fuel economy (the H22A's ECU is tuned to run rather rich, for protection against detonation... with a mild tune, I gained 5mpg on mine, from 25 to 30.)

Their claims are vague. That's how they get away with it.
It's sad... so many of these things are advertised in magazines, on ebay, and even on very professional looking sites like that. It makes it easy for someone who doesn't know the first thing about ECU tuning to believe the claims. We would ALL love to believe those claims... but they're simply not true!

Sorry bud all that is, is a 10 cent resistor that tricks your ecu. It is unsafe for your engine it will make it run really rich or really lean I can't remember which one. I can see why you would think this is for reall great sales gimmick great wording, the truth is it's all bullshit. Good thing you came here for some advice.

First off, every page is the exact same as others, just they just change the wording from Brand/Make between pages, here's an excerpt for a DB9 Vantage, or Honda Accord, or whatever other car you can think of.

Sounds like a piggyback setup, that ultimately sounds like , if your not opening the ecu up to replace the chip (prom), how are you supposed to connect it to the IAT sensor?

                MSRP: 399.99? Ahahhahahahahha

They even sell the kit for Bugatti's.

It's not a piggyback... it's really nothing more than a resistor, as antonio7566 said (I went to the page this morning to argue with his statement, and he's right.) This is the same thing they've been hawking on ebay since 2001. A 99 cent resistor you can buy at Radio Shack (even with their inflated prices! )

It alters the signal from the IAT sensor to trick the ECU into thinking the engine is running cooler. It's like giving someone a cup of decaf and saying it's extra strength coffee.
The funny thing is... if the ECU thinks the engine is running cooler, wouldn't it supply MORE fuel? More fuel without more oxygen would cause a loss in power and fuel economy... Maybe it reports that the engine is running hotter, so it cuts back the fuel (hence the gain in power and fuel economy.)

That, or it really does absolutely nothing at all... a placebo effect... which is why it's safe to offer it for just about any fuel injected vehicle, from K-cars to Bugattis.
