ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    F22A1 Goods And Bads.

What Are The Goods And Bads And Is This A Good Engine?

    #2
Good. You found the proper place to post this. Now please delete the thread in the appearance section.

The F22A engines are all the same, other than what is bolted to them. The F22A1 is the weakest of the 3 (F22A1, F22A4, and F22A6) making 125hp. The F22A4 makes 5hp more with the only difference being the exhaust manifold. The F22A6 makes 140hp with a different exhaust manifold, intake manifold, camshaft, valve springs, ECU, and a windage tray in the oil pan.
Most of the differences are parts that get replaced when the engines are modified anyway, so any F22A is just fine to start basic mods with.

The F22A head, when modified (port and polish) can flow VERY well... it will outflow some of Honda's best heads. This only matters in a very serious, very expensive build, though.

The bad side is that the compression is quite low. Low compression ratios are good for turbo, but turbo on a stock block will break your pistons, as they aren't made for turbo.

I already did delete it but thank you.

But Would A F22b1 Vtech A Good Engin Becouse Ive Heard

That f22a Would Last More Than A F22b But The A's Would Be Good
      With Turbo...

When I responded, you hadn't yet.

        1) It's VTEC, not Vtech. And no, the F22B1 sucks. That thing I said about the F22A head is the exact opposite for the F22B1. It's a terrible performance engine. Reliable and efficient, but no good for serious performance. It's only worth building if you have a 94-97 Accord that already came with one.
Look up how VTEC works (howstuffworks.com explains it well. Once you understand VTEC, understand that the SOHC VTEC engines have VTEC on the intake side ONLY. Understand it, and you'll see why that isn't a great thing for performance.
Read the "sticky" threads in the Swaps section of this site to see more engines that are good.

        2) No stock Honda engine is "good with turbo". Anyone that tells you that knows less than you do (or at least they know less than you will by the end of today.)
In terms of low compression, just about any SOHC F series engine is "good"... but you will break a ringland very quickly with a stock-block turbo setup, no matter how carefully you do everything else. If it's a project engine that you don't mind blowing up, fine. If it's your daily driver, don't do it.
If you want reliable turbo, do your research, spend the money for quality parts, and build an F22A. It's the cheapest route.

        3) Turn caps lock off. You're clearly trying to draw attention to yourself, and you're drawing the WRONG kind of attention.

Since reading the rules doesn't seem to be enough, would you prefer that I tell you, or just go ahead and ban you? Banning you would be much easier, trust me.

Don't forget about the F22A1 found in the Prelude S as it made ~10hp more than the Accord's A1. What was different? the ECU.

                      isn't the pt6 better than the p12?

For an F22A1 in stock form? No.

Add an F22A6 camshaft and intake manifold (or H23A manifold), then yes, the PT6 is better. The PT6 is tuned for the A6 cam profile, and it operates the IAB system found in the A6 intake manifold (as well as the H23 intake manifold.)
