ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Motor starts up, and shuts back down

    Hi All,

Here's the problem.: occasionally, but not always, when I start my motor, the RPMs move up for the start-up, and then they come down and the motor shuts off. I tried to look for leaks, I found none. New battery, and the dizzy and cap were just a bit toasty and I sanded down the brown bits.

    - could my dizzy need a new cap and rotor? I just replaced them under 2 mothns ago. New wires, and sparks just about a week ago.

This has been a recurring problem for about a year now, but it's only happens soemtimes on any given day. For exapmple, if I turn the motor on for 5 trips.. But the 6 or 7 start up, the motor turns and dies off, even when I apply the gas pedal.

    * auto tranny

    Thanks All.

Mines starting to do that shit too. it might be the main relay, igniter, fuel filter, fuel pump, ecu, or ign switch, or the grounds on the motor. shits weak I hate when I get trolled be my car.

You know, I do have a different ignition on my cb. I own two keys. Bad ground sounds plausible.. Also I notice power fluctuations when temperature is hot outside. When I turn my lights on, or anything for that matter, the RPMs suffer just enough for me to notice.

I`m with Accord problems, my past accords has done that main relay failure, especially when it`s hot outside. easy to fix. little soldering needed, that`s all.

Hope it is that main relay.

check for dirty injecters and replace fuel fillter. problem is still there then check the injecter relay. jk lol check for dirty injecters and replace fuel fillter. then check the fuel pump and all relays to it . or what you can do is take and probe the connecter to the fuel pump and see if it gets constant power while some one crankes the motor.

Why does my main relay get so hot? I've noticed it stops the motor from turning on it it's too hot.

ignition switch. Pull fuel line. Put it in clear bucket so you can see it from drivers seat. Turn on ignition. You'll see fuel going in bucket. When you try to start the car. You should see fuel stop if its the ignition switch. Mine was pitted so it was not providing full voltage to main relay at that point. I temporarily cleaned the contacts. I eventually replaced it.

If your IACV(idle air control valve) and your FITV(fast idle thermo valve) is not cleaned it will cause the motor to bog down and die also.

They will cause a drop in your idle. And it is normal for your idle to drop when loaded with the ac, radio, turn signal, ect...
