ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    F22A6 problem

ok so lets see where i start ... oh yeah i bought a used POS f22a6 off a dude from facebook ... said it ran great ... yeah screw me , had major problems

ripped it apart ... replaced the valves, seals, pistons, rings, rod bearings, timing belt, water pump and alot of more shit

... so after a many months of doing this i fiannly get it back on the road today and now it runs like shit ... blows smoke out the exhuast which i could give a rats ass but the problem i am having is that the oil light is on at idel 800 ish ... once i go it goes away ... now i did put 5w30 in like a dum ass but meh ..

any1 got any ideas on why my pos wont love me after 2 years of dumping money into her?

your the one that built it. how should we know whats wrong with it? you replaced all that internal stuff so basically you took the entire engine apart. all anyone can do is guess.

it blows smoke. you dont care but that is the only thing that could possibly tell us what its doing wrong. what smoke is it? oil coolant or fuel?

if the oil light is on then your pressure sensor is shot or you have low oil pressure. if the smoke is oil then you could have a serious internal oil leak. could be valve seals. could be piston rings.

as i said you rebuilt the engine so it being a pos is strictly on you bud. you did something wrong.

well i replaced the sensor on the back of the block ... ..

i cleaned up the oil pick up b/c it was not in the greatest looking condition but that was about it ..

i guess what i am asking is that after a rebuild if u run light oil in the engine which its not use to would it act funny i always ran 10w40 but my girl bought me the wrong oil ..

they actually make break in oil for new engines. however i dont know how big a deal it is. if everything is right i dont thing running 5w30 would do any real damage. it wouldnt make it blow smoke and run like crap. the oil isnt your problem im sure

What was your rod and main bearing clearances? If you just slapped random bearings in the thing thats a no no.

Also do a compression or leak down.

i went to honda and bought the same color which were brown and green ...
and i resued the same rods

so that would say that i have the same clearance as i did before ... correct ?

Should always check clearances wear is a factor aswell as roundness it will not be the same on a used engine vs when it was new. If it were me i'd tear back into it check the clearances on the bearings and oil pump.

As for the smoke compression or leak down test is in order.

the reason honda offers different colors is because clearance changes with wear. if you used the same size bearings that were on that engine probably since 1992 then the chances are good that the clearances are too loose

                  *****FYI, The F22 uses 5w30, not 10w40.

people say to use thicker oil in older engines. then again this is a rebuilt engine so its not older anymore
