ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Wet carpet..

Hi, my 1993 Accord (right hand drive) has developed a very wet carpet in the drivers footwell. Can't see where the water is getting in. Gets wet even when the car is parked up. Any ideas? Thanks - Paul, London UK

The method I would use to find a leak would require a bit of cleaning afterward, but it can be effective. Wait until the car is completely dry. Dust the area that gets wet with baby powder. Spray the car with a hose. The baby powder should show the source of the leak very quickly... or at least point you in the right direction.

Good idea! Thanks I will have to wait a while for it to dry out as it's soaking wet. Hardly stopped raining here for weeks..

Man, you're getting all the rain we're not! It hasn't really rained here in weeks.

I'm not too familiar with what it takes to have a sunroof but wouldn't they have some kind of drainage tube for rain water? I'd imagine if they did, they are probably clogged with something.

Good point... There are drain holes either side at the front of the sunroof channel. Maybe the drain tubes vent out at the front somewhere? Haven't found it yet. Have just lifted the carpet and there is about 1/4" of water. Have drilled a small hole to let it all out.

the drain tubes for the moonroof run down the insides of the a-pillars. They can very easily come disconnected down in the kick panel area allowing them to drain into the car. My civic hatchback did this once, it's an easy fix. Find the tube, you'll find your leak.

Checking those tubes will certainly be easier than making a mess with the powder as I suggested! Hopefully that'll be the solution, and you won't need to use the powder method.

                  Thanks for the replies..
I removed the mud deflector behind the front wheel and it had nearly 20 years of crud in there. Cleaned it out with a hose, and ran a cable down thru the moonroof drain pipe to clear it out. Pouring water into the drainage channel, it now flows out freely. Can't locate the end of the drain pipe, but the water drops down towards the outside of the cleaned out area. Maybe all the crud was causing the water to back up and enter the foot well. Will leave it now and see if it's fixed. Thanks guys!
