ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

    faulty oil pressure switch problems

since i've had my H22 swap, little over a year. i have had to change the OIL PRESSURE SWITCH 4 times. this is the sensor just over top of the oil filter on the H block. i got mine from autoZone, and it is gold in color as apposed to the silver OEM. Is the block pressure making my switch fail every 3-4 months?

im sorry.....its the sensor just under the oil filter.

      Why?
      Leaking? Faulty? Broken?

Take them back, then buy an OEM one.

Wow four times? At least now i know not to go to Autozone to get an oil pressure switch because i think mine is leaking back there.

if im not mistaken, the h22 oil pressure switch is under the oil filter and the knock is above it...thats how it is on the f20b and my old h22.

If it is the switch than all you have to do is wire the pressure switch into the vtec solenoid and put a bolt in the hole. From what I understand most of the jdm h22a engine came without an switch, mine did anyway and I have a jdm ecu that doesn't look for this switch. To do this you put a jumper between A4 and D6 on the harness or under the hood.

I am definately going OEM... BUT if the OEM doesnt hold, what could it be. if you've ever heard of such a thing happening.

Thats the pressure sensor different than the pressure switch located on the head I am talking about but OEM is the way to go.

You still haven't even said WHAT the problem is.

So No, I've never heard such a thing as nothing happening causing a problem.

if you have the oil flashing and you changed the switch then it could be a bad oil pump.

it is leaking! every few months causing my oil light to illuminate, flash, flicker and or combination of all three at idle and while driving. then most times after i give it gas it goes away. until i come to a complete stop, then it does one or all of the three options i gave. Causing me to re-fill my crank case 1qt/wk.

Giving it gas and the light going away leads me to thinking your oil pump is wearing out.

I thought it was my oil pump too at first. until i changed that bloody oil pressure thing. (not the one on the vtec soleniod, the one on the block under the oil filter) i confuse the two. Then it functions just fine until it starts leaking. I always try to take the extra pressure off of the pump by checking and topping off my oil every chance i get, just in case.

thats what i thought...but it only happens when the switch leaks.I thought it was causing insufficient oil pressure to the pump making the light go off.

                              What?

So now your leaking 1qt a week?
Does the light go out when you put extra oil in, or do you mean the switch leaks 1 qt a week?

Either way, Put an OEM one on, Problem fixed.
