ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Leaking Oil From Rear Balance Shaft

Ok, so I'm replacing the head today, and I find out where my problem was coming from. I had oil and gunk all around the rear balance shaft.
My question is.... would it be more feasible to fix THAT problem, rebuild the bottom, or go the swap route?

feasible? How much money do you want to spend would be a better question.

      I'm guessing 200.00 - 1000.00 ballpark figure! LOL
I'm not trying to race the car. but I would like to make it more fun to drive.

I still don't understand what you're asking. If you want to fix the leak that would be the cheapest route. A swap will cost substantially more than $1000.

Well that's the answer I was looking for. I have never done a swap on a CB7 b4. I kinda know what the cost would be for a D-series and B-series...The CB7 is a whole 'nother animal. LOL

What would you do if the swapped motor leaked? Do another swap . . . ?

Fix the leak and keep driving.

I think that's what I'm planning to do. Think I just might upgrade the internals since I've gotta go in there. Researching that now.

                  Upgrade the internals in where?
You don't have to strip the engine to fix it, You just need to replace the O-ring gasket.

with 199,500 miles on the motor, and the head being off to be replaced with a refreshed one I have on hand...I figured that I would replace the engine, or go the route of new rings, pistons, and such. Just as a preventative maintenance route. Maybe some ARP rod bolts...just don't wanna have to worry about it any time soon.
