ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

      What's the CEL?
      http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=21259

If there's a CEL, something is WRONG. Nine times out a ten, fixing the CEL will fix whatever issue you're having.

Is it stock motor? My friend swapped an F22b Sohc Vtec motor and that would happen because he didn't have the right ecu or Vtec wired

A CEL will usually cause the engine to run in "limp mode"... and you should never rev an engine throwing a CEL high anyway. That's just asking for a blown engine! It's like feeling a pain in your ankle, and then deciding to run as fast as you can.

Whatever is throwing the CEL is likely the culprit, or the CEL itself throwing the ECU into limp mode. However, the valve timing may be off (belt skipped a tooth), or the ignition timing may be way off.

You should find out if you're friend has had any type of swap, or major work done. Sounds like It's running in open loop. So if the motor and everything under hood is basically stock, then start with checking the o2 sensor. especially if the code happens to be a 41. If he has had a swap or anything done... then start looking into bad wiring/splices etc. It's really common to have an old poorly twisted and taped splice, fall apart.

yes the cb is stock original engine and tranny..
8 -TDC - top dead center sensor

                    15- Ignition output signal

these are the two codes it gave me .. when i read the blinking lights so i asked him if he had change the distributor, and he said yes cuz his car was stolen and the just took a few thing off the car including the distributor so he got one from the junk yard so i told him was the car running fine before and he said yes in till he put a use distributor on it. so we all this info i came down the conclusion that he has to go exchange the used distributor or get a refund and buy a new one..

Also The D4 light was blinking when i jump the plug to check the codes so does the part that is wrong with the engine wich is the distributor effect the tranny also.. is my question

Once you fix the distributor everything should go back to normal

You're not "redlining". It's a fuel cut. A safety measure programmed into the ECU to prevent (or try to prevent) engine damage. Fix the problem the CEL is alerting you of, and the 4500rpm fuel cut will stop.
