ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

One thing I've yet to see and seems like common sense but change your oil every 3000 miles with 10W30 (for older original engines). Doing so also increases your mileage.

No one has even mentioned O2 sensor yet. They can start to go bad and give false readings, but not throw a code/CEL. If a regular tune up doesn't help, that is the next thing I would replace.

My ex doesnt even get 300 per tank
I read on this site that the fuel tank capacity for my 90 EX is 17 gallons? but when my low fuel light came on, and I topped it off it only took 13.8? so does that mean my tank is smaller? or there was 3 gallons still inside it? I am just confused as to why the low fuel light came on?
And I am lucky if I am getting over 200 miles per tank, granted it is all city driving, and the guy I bought it from told me it has new plugs and wires, but the wires dont sit tight on the valve cover? and my honda buddy told me if he bought cheap wires they are not the right length? they are too long is what he said, but I am a chevy guy, none of this makes sense to me lolLast edited by Bigschnak27; 02-19-2013, 10:13 PM.

I like this thread, lots of informative topics in it, but permit me to share mine. I have the same problem like yours, I started replacing parts as per my mechanic advise (Fuel filter, TPS, IACV, FITV, Fuel pump, Fuel injector and Clean EGR passage) result was still the same until one day I find out that my distributor was leaking with oil then I decided to replace it with OEM good second hand from the junkyard now my problem is gone. Hope my experience give you some good example.Originally posted by allentang14 View PostI'm losing gas about 100 miles per tank its pretty ridiculous
I was asking my mechanic he said my spark plugs were really bad,
is there a certain brand i should buy for spark plugs or generic would be fine?
I don't mind spending extra money seeing its for my car's daily performance
How much should i spend for the service?
