ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Hey guys,
Let's take it easy. Are we talking about spring/struts, or resumes?

Ok, got some pics for you guys:

They came with sleeves, but not the everyday universal sleeves, they look like they were made for the shocks:

^trying to show the sleeves slide on the shocks perfectly, no o rings or anything needed.

Thats all for now. Ill let you guys know when I install them.

Cheaper price usually denotes lesser quality, and vice versa the same goes for more expensive shit. And thats not just for springs/shocks thats for pretty much anything you buy. Of course there are exceptions to this not to mention paying for brand names and shit but basically this is how it is. If you got $600 coilovers and you got some $50 coilovers, its pretty obvious which ones are crap. But you got springs/shocks that are $300 to $400 and off top start calling them shit with nothing to back that statement up other than the price and the fact that the brand is lesser known? I don't agree with that.

And just because something isn't as good as quality as something else doesn't automatically make it bottom of the barrel shit bad quality... There is an area in between.
The issue isn't necessarily the quality (though that IS an issue), but the fact that these things are being used for a purpose for which they were not designed.
OEM replacement parts may be fine for true OEM style replacement... but when you start lowering the car, raising the spring rate, and driving more aggressively... we have a problem. That goes for the low quality stuff as well as the high quality stuff. If it's not made for a particular purpose, don't use it for that purpose. Not when it's something that could hurt or kill someone if it fails.
Anyone who cheaps out suspension components to save a few bucks is essentially saying "my life, your life, and the life of the guy in front of me are only worth about $300 to me."

As for "resumes"... just because I own this site doesn't mean I'm an expert. However, nobody has given me a convincing argument as of yet for an improper suspension setup.
The fact that I run this site should NEVER have anything to do with the implied value of my words. When I'm giving technical advice, I'm not doing it as the owner. I'm doing it as a fellow enthusiast, and I'm ONLY doing it when I honestly do know what I'm talking about.

OK thats what up, we have a member that actually bought one of these products. Yeah let us know how it rides and all.

Be sure to include some pics of it lowered and whatnot with the new suspension. Regardless of all the bullshit I am just curious to see what it looks like on a vehicle.

Now not to be a dick but Deevergote ur opinion isnt the end all be all only answer. I appreciate ur input and respect ur opinion and I get that ur just trying to help me do it right the first time, but i can only do what my pocket book says. And my pocket book says $300 give or take.

theres people in the suspension section showing CB's on stock struts and on springs, so i see it like "If they can, why cant I?"
if 300 is all you got and youre settling.. save some more loot. even if you do get them, they might last just 6 months or whatever. doing things twice or even forbid thrice really sucks.

Save your loot get some real shit people have heard of. In a couple of months youll start seeing some deep discounts on brand name stuff. I got myself a brandnew set of H&R sport cups (koni sport damper and H&R springs matched up at the factory) for like 560 bucks on the bay. but hey its your car, life, and liability.

Speedz resurrected this thread about shitty suspension components to announce that he, too, is getting shitty suspension components. I'm sure the OP has made his choice by now.

I really wish people would stop necroposting.

I guess i'll see what happens with my TruHart suspension. i've seen one review on them and the guy was pretty happy with them. unfortunately not everyone has time to save up for "better" .. plus i cant see spending $600+ on suspension for a car that i paid $900 for .. the car will see very light driving.. i put less than 10k miles on my DD last year. i've got 2 kids, and do all their transporting in my wife's 2012 camry se.. so dont have to worry about their safety. but having kids as some of the members can attest... make "saving" pretty hard.. so i'll take my chances.. and if something happens.. you're more than welcome to say "i told you so..."
