ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Yep, the non-vtec f22b2 and f22a share similar intakes:

Sonik: your link refers to the JDM F22B DOHC motor. The F22B1, B2 and B6 use a very different IM gasket/flange/casting etc, same w/ the head too, very different ports. Studs line up though I believe.
It could involve something like this:

Only IM for an F22B1 or F22B2 head is the F23A* manifold.
The F22A and F22B1/2 are not close enough in port shape to make an adapter plate feasible. The link above shows just how much work it takes to make a few ponies. It's really not worth the time an effort when the F23 IM is the same gain and it bolts right on.Last edited by GhostAccord; 10-23-2013, 09:54 PM.

If you're not looking to upgrade your internals, raise compression, run larger valves and or use a higher lift cam. Then the F22B2 head with an F23 IM will flow more than enough for a daily driver, N/A or Boosted.
If you are looking to do an all out N/A build the H23, F20B or H22A DOHC heads would be an upgrade. However, you would be better off just doing a complete engine swap vs a head swap.Last edited by GhostAccord; 10-24-2013, 12:14 AM.

F22b blocks are identical with the f22a aren't they?
The A head has superb flow characteristics.
Do a complete a6 head swap, intake manifold, and pt6 ecu
You can spice things up with like said earlier, larger valves, mild port polish, double plenum spacers and bisi cam and headers.
Bisi's stage2 cams are too aggressive though, you need a high quality tune.
If you can snag a a1-4 head all you would need are the cam, ecu and valve springs from an a6
Also a h23 manifold works.

It has been shown that the F22B1/2 actually flow better at low lift and equal to the PT3 head in the mid and high lift areas.
Only time the PT3 head (F22A1,4 or 6 head) really starts to outshine the other F series heads is when you are looking to go with an extreme naturally aspirated engine build. No gains in swapping to a PT3 for boosted applications.
Only other reason to swap to a PT3 would be for a Bisi header..... Not worth it in my eyes. IMO If you are looking to do a big budget build you would be better off paying $1000+ for an actual custom header built by a local fabricator. I would take a burns Stainless LLC Header kit over a Bisi unit...

People have put the H23A1 intake manifold on the F22B1/2/6. In fact, I've even seen a 4th generation Prelude in the junkyard with an F22B1 swap that still used the H23A1 manifold. However, it's a horrible decision unless you plan on hogging out the intake ports on the F22B1/2/6 head to match. A simple gasket comparison will show you why it's such a horrible idea. You're trying to get a large port surface into a small port surface with zero transition. That means air will be crashing into the surface of the head upon entry. Horrible for airflow. The F23A1 manifold is the only actual upgrade. Just wanted to clear it up.My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!
