ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    acceleration issues

I was recently removing my cruise control in my 91 Honda accord lx because it wasn't working & seeing as I don't want to replace it . I disconnected what I thought to be a cable for the cruise control . I later found out it to be the transmission throttle control cable. my question is ....
how will this affect my car , if at all? I have noticed that I have to control how hard I slam on the gas so I don't red line. also on another note...
remember I'm new What is the purpose of the bypass control diaphragm because mine is not connected to anything & is swinging around freely. T.I.A

.........ok. Welcome... i'll try to help. First put everything back the way it was.

    To remove CC

    1. Unbolt the CC
    2. Remove Cable that goes to throttle body
    3. Trace vacuum to Intake manifold
    4. Disconnect vacuum line, and put a cap on the nipple
    5. Follow other Vacuum line to Drivers side fender well
    6. Disconnect the Line, and or remove fender liner and take out the little black box.

You should grab a manual for your car. It helps you with these steps

the cruise control's cable goes thru the firewall to the accelerator pedal and attaches to it like a bike brake cable attached to the lever.

Without it it will lead to the destruction of the transmission and operate poorly in the meantime.

I would guess that you are referring to the black box under the intake manifold. It controls the IAB's. If you want to know what they do you can research it for yourself now that I have given you the proper term.

My advice is educate yourself as much as you can before doing anything else. Even before replacing the cable you removed accidentally. That cable has an adjustment. If it's improperly adjusted it will damage the transmission.

I could give you instructions but that would likely only dig you a deeper hole. I mean no offense by this but confusing the transmission cable with the cruise control cable shows that you haven't a clue as to what your doing. But it's ok to be new and require more knowledge. Just be sure of what your doing before you do it. By searching and reading everything you can.
