Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Sorry, had to
See if you can use some sort of oil-proof sealant or thread locker. JB Weld as a last resort. Honestly, the only way to hope to salvage it properly is to remove the transmission, disassemble it, and weld up the hole you put in the case.
Unfortunately, your minor mistake could end up being a major issue.

Even the bits of casing that went inside the transmission when you drilled all the way through could prove to be an issue if they get in your bearings.
I'd do what deevergote said, just to be on the safe side of things. Even if you use JB weld after you got the transmission open is okay, just don't do it while it's still assembled.

Agreed with everyone else. Recent video from Eric The Car Guy he drilled too far into the block and had a coolant leak. As a last resort he used JB Weld to plug the hole, then put the bolt in with sealant on it which did the trick. Personally I would be worried about the bits that went inside the transmission.
Sorry for ya.

Wow, I dropped the ball on that one. I hadn't even considered the bits inside! Yeah, even if you could patch the hole, those bits are going to eat your transmission up.
If you're in a hurry to get the car going, your best bet would be to pick up another transmission to install while you repair this one. This transmission will need to be disassembled, cleaned, the hole repaired from the inside of the case, and then reassembled. Especially if you've turned the engine on and put the transmission in gear. Might as well pick up the necessary parts to rebuild it in the process, and learn a new skill!
With the metal shavings that certainly fell inside left in there, your transmission oil will become more of an abrasive paste, eating away at your transmission's internal parts. Once that happens, the transmission is going to be completely useless.
