ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    a/t shifter cable

    Hello fellow cb7 owners!

I just finished swapping f22a6 motor on my 92 ex sedan. Everything starts up, runs fine everything is good.

My question is how can you tell a worn out shifter cable?During the time of swap I forgot to detached the shifter cable while I took the motor and transmission as a whole unit so it stretched the cable.

So I bought a used one at the junkyard and installed it. Problem is I can't drive nor go in reverse. Car does not move at all. Yes I have a TCU code #2 , I'll have to pick one of the "2-Lock-up solenoid 'B' circuit open or shorted"up sometime this weekend or the follow week since the junkyard is 70 miles away from me. I did all the test and no clicks at all. So figure I'll get one.

Sorry back on topic, when the car is running I step on the brake pedal i then press the tab with my right thumb to go in Reverse. From then on I can slide the shifter from R, N,D4,D3 and back with ease. I'm assuming the shifter cable is defective. Should I find another one at the yard or buy a brand new one. The one i got now I don't see nothing wrong with it. Will a shifter cable from CD5 work on cb7. Found one from a local craigslist since its near my house.

Any idea? Sorry guys I'm kinda bad at explaining things in writing.

Sounds like your kick-down cable isn't adjusted correctly. I could be wrong though.

Thanks guys did the simple test from one the threads that was made in this site for the solenoids. I switched it out from one at the my and the d4 light went away so no more codes. Next is to switch the atf with Honda atf. BTW anyone have the directions to adjust the kickdown cable from the throttle and transmission? I feel like it needs adjustment.

My understanding is that the lever on the trans should be at resting position (zero cable tension) until the throttle moves enough to start to actually raise the rpm, at which point it should start pulling on the lever. Lever moves before the rpms = too tight. Rpms go up before the cable starts to pull the lever = too loose.

Does anyone else do it differently?
