ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Not 100% on the question.

The neg. battery cable is just a ground that will typically just run to a spot on the block.

*Not completely on topic, but highly relavent...with subtle hints of thread jacking *

When I was bleeding my clutch two days ago, I did a fairly thorough inspection of the engine bay for loose/broken/missing pieces.
I used my dad's immaculate CB9 as my reference.

I discovered that my battery has two grounds, one big, one small. And my bigger one is actin' the foo':
      - There's one short, kinda small, ground wire that connects to the *INSERT CORRECT PIECE HERE* right beside the Negative terminal of the battery.
      - And, one BIG ASS ground that goes down kinda past the starter motor and connects, seemingly, to the engine block. MY big ground is just hanging there. I can see exactly there it should be connected, I just need to get my hands on a couple correctly sized bolts.

      Maybe this'll help?

      ...And I'm Gone

*EDIT* Holy EXPLETIVE I need one of those got-DAMN digi-tally picture taking inventions. The use I'd get out of it for the purpose of this site alone would be mind boggling!

Yeah well, my little ground is broken, the one that attaches to the fender.

Earlier this week I (thought I had) finally finished my H23 rebuild and swap, and went to start the car, but the starter would just make one loud click. We jumped the battery and still the same. I knew I had hooked up the wiring and engine/harness grounds, my friend just put the clamps on the battery and wanted to check for start. I came back to the car the next day and switched the starter, and hooked up the battery PROPERLY, I noticed the short ground from the -neg post to the nearest vertical part of the engine bay near the fender wasn't hooked up the day before. The car started right up (my 1st real swap, yay! ). The starter worked when I pulled the H23 and I think it's still good- also because the dash lights didn't work right, they were all dim, check engine light was on, and the lights in the display were even on without the key in the ignition---wtf? That's cool if yours runs without it, but it's easy to make one and it can't be a bad idea...maybe your year/model has it in a different place? Hondaautomotive parts.com sells it new with the main ground (to engine block) cable assy.Illustration #14, BATTERY component -for 26.55, but you can look at the pic there and see what it looks like to make your own- it's just a piece of wire with some crimp-on ends. Seems important though

do you happen to have a picture of where the big negative cable connects to the block??? i just looked at mine,
postive goes from fusebox, battery, and to the starter

the negative goes from fender, battery, and the other one is just broken off on mine i ordered a new cable assmebly but im not sure where this one connects to the block??? i dunno how my car has been running like this, i only noticed it now cause my battery light started flickering
