ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    abs w/ intake

I just now purchased a cheap short-ram intake off of eBay (just for the tubing; adding custom filter). Now, I have the EX which has ABS. Now, in the description, it didn't say that it was for the Accord w/o ABS. I have seen other short-ram intakes on eBay where they specifically say "NO ABS". This intake did not. I was curious as to if I should be alright. Even if not, how bad will the intake rub against the ABS modulator?

Lastly, what would be a good replacement filter to put on (best heat protection and performance. links would be nice)?

if its a normal intake tube (up to 3") it will fit without touching the ABS crap. its the wider ones (whale penises and the ones with that... chamber thing) that wont fit.

Good. What I wanted to hear. I was worried for a sec (I never wing it. I always examine parts 500% before I buy; it sucks). Thanks.

What kind of intake do you have? And is the rubbing critical?

mine rubs, but it has only taken off the paint i coated the tubing with.

                    and get a k&n filter.

I just put my old F22 into someone's '93 ex coupe and it had a hole there. My friend reinforced it with a piece of steel, but I think you could probably just try to mount it as close as possible to the tb or cut a 1/4" ring off that end of the pipe so the intake turns 1/4" early to avoid the ABS crap. I have a similar intake on my H23 '92 EX 4DR, but it doesn't hit at all.....oh yeah, it's for a prelude, nevermind.

Yeah, I know see where the intake will rub the abs. What I can possibly do is put something between the two as a buffer when the intake is installed.

The only K&N filters I have seen replace the stock rectangle filter.

You can get just the cone-style K&Ns off of eBay, I've bought them there before. I'd visit their site (K&N) for the applicable part number before purchasing, so that you get what you thought you purchased.....

get a rubber coupler, like the ones that connect ur intake to the throttle body. wiggle it up to the part where it would hit, that should absorb it a little. if it doesnt wiggle far enough, make a slit in it and use a clamp to keep it there. (trademark 93accordexcoupe )
