ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Ground Wire Location

I have some electrical problem in my car. The battery won't stay charged to 100%. When the charge in the battery drops I have drivability issues, its almost like my EGR is clogged(jsut cleaned last week) or the clutch is slipping. But when I charge the batt and drive the car runs fine, it also levels out my idle. I have seen posts on changing 3 big ground wires when upgrading ALt. I would like to try this to see if it helps. I saw a ground wire kit on ebay but I don't think that is what I need. I checked the alt with a voltmeter and it reads 14.7 @ idle. I am going to get a yellow top but that won't fix this prob. I have no major electrical stuff ie no amp, the only thing that mught be is an alarm or I have 9006 60 watt low beams, but I don't drive much at night.

I was talking to a friend who was having the same problem, and wondering if you could take a multimeter to the fuse boxes while the car is off to check for power where there shouldn't be.
Maybe that's stupid , but electrical gremlins are tough to track.

      14.7? thats a bit high...good alternator is 13.5 to 14...

perhaps ur battery is on the frits being overcharged and just dying...you can get that tested.

if u charge ur battery urself and the voltage goes over 15 volts you got a bad battery. have ur electrical system checked...i mean if its 14.7 at idle that may be ok...but if u shut the car down and let it sit for a while and the battery voltage is below 11.8 or something then ur battery is bad.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

Hondas have Electronic Load Detectors (ELD). I don't know enough about it's function to say too much, but It's one of the things some people disable on their tuned ECUs, and I think it stops the alternator from overcharging. There's a fuse and a CEL code for this though, so it's probably not your problem, just thought I'd mention.
