ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Both ball joints and a tie rod

need to be replaced on my 90 Accord. There should be a good DIY here someplace right.

Yea, put brand new tires on last week and tried to get the car aligned this AM only to find out that these parts need to be replaced.

I guess I'll be spending some time here and in my garage over the next week.....................

I just gave the shop the "OK" to do this work for (and rape) me. They quoted me ~$300 including the 4 wheel alignment.

Oh well. I got the car for free basically.........

lol rape scene but if you add alignment i guess is ok, that alone is 60-80 bucks and is not ez to work on 13 year old cars.

Not my fault my dick only fits magnums.

you could have saved at least half of that, if you would have used a little elbow grease.

            I like your math 2006 - 1990 = 16 years.

i just saved myself like 600-1200 bucks by doing it myself. i am no mechanic at all. i got a downloadable helms from online and a friend and we replace some components without a garage or serious shop tools. i ran into a curb at like 50mph and mess up my suspension pretty good. we took of the passenger axle, tie rod, lower control arm, upper control arm, knuckle, swaybar, whole exhaust system, and the subframe. we had learned a hell of alot and it will give you the confidence that you can do whatever if you just try and research. because at first i didn't wanna bother and was saving up the money to pay a shop. lmao, glad i didn't. thats money that can be used elsewhere now. now i just need to get my wheels re-aligned.

the best thing to do is get a haynes car manual for your year and model of car, this book will show you step by step how to do anything you want from changing oil to engine swap.

Yup, got 2 Chiltons. I am a pretty good mechanic, I just didn't want to take the time and effort to tackle this. This is the first time I've paid someone to work on any of my cars in a VERY long time.

Well, the shop has just informed me that in addition to everything else that the drivers side A arm needs to be replaced to. I guess I'll just order the complete kit form ARM-CAN and install it myslef and then let them align it.

Bastards. At least I won't be charge for having them assess my situation.

Sounds good man. Good luck. I hate paying to have people work on my car, but ever once in a while I do get lazy and give in.
