ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

That washer below the screw is prob goin out. Any oil in your spark plug tubes? Cheap way to fix is to see if the bolt is even tightened down on that washer deal. But if you wanna replace it just get a valve cover gasket and it should come with new ones. Plus dont overtighten.

When I relpaced my spark plugs there was one plug that was covered in oil. I havn't checked the tubes recently but they were fine a couple weeks ago. I think this just started happening yesterday at the air-strip we got permission to go on. Doin drags up till around 110mph then shuttin them down. Could it be possible that I ruined the valve cover gasket?

well i think there supposed to be tightened down to 8-10ft lbs. Really not that much. Plus you will know when ther cap on the nut starts to kinda break open which means you did it too tight.

yea.... normal i just use a rachet set and tighten till it looks/feels tight enough or i think im going to break the nut/bolt. Are there extra things to find this?

O btw to get the valve cover off is it just the 4 bolts if i rmb or do u need to take out the sparkplugs too?

If it feels tight enough dont go anymore. Yea just the 4 top bolts to get off. You can either 1. pry it off (people dont recommend this way) 2. Tap it with a rubber mallet in the corners. You have to move the wires out of the way though.

i don't trust anything pre-gapped, and it only takes a few seconds to check it anyways.
