ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    rotors and the hub nut.

for all that is holy i cannot get that freaking nut loose. i just broke one wrench luckly it's a MAC tool so i can have it swapped out if i can catch one of the drivers.

the phrase "righty tighty and lefty loosey" applies to this nut also right? i mean theres no reason to why it would be reverse threaded is there?

normal thread. unstake the edge of the nut first! do it with the tire on, car on the ground, with somebody standing on the brake pedal. breaker bar w/ large socket, with a metal pipe extension, and then jump on it and give it all your strength. breaker bars often snap on it, so use a mac/craftsman one. itll come off eventually.

Use an impact wrench. If you don't have one, then break out the PB Blaster, a good 36mm socket, a breaker bar and a cheater pipe.

yeah that's what i was doing, standing on it then it snapped on me and i fell off.

well i have a stronger buddy coming over to help and then i'll just buy him dinner/lunch whatever as payment because he's on of those starving artist type guys who's very handy.

        thanks mike.

I replaced my rotors last weekend, and had quite a similar experience. I weigh about 260 lbs, and it took all of that to break the passenger's side loose.

Before breaking the nut, I had to peel away as much of the staking material as possible; that eliminated almost a quarter of an inch of threads. Next, I asked my girlfriend to stand on the brake pedal. Finally, I stood on a 15" breaker bar, pulled myself down with hands in under the wheel skirt, and hopped a few times. Needless to say, I would have rather had an impact wrench!

It's a bitch. I broke my breaker bar. Impact wrench works wonders. Leave the stock wheel as you can get to the nut with it on.

              ...adjust accordingly

make sure it isn't still pushed down so you can't undo it.
but yes just get a long breaker bar and jump on the bitch.
uh... if by overboosted you mean "right the fuck on" then, sure, it is.
