ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Sounds more like the ignition module to me but if you want run a ground wire directly from the battery to the distributer mounting bolt, then the ground will not be an issue.

the module is new, could it be the ignition coil(the thing with the spring attached to it)?

my car did the same chit. I do suspect that it was the "Igniter" . It is not a mudule or anything else. Its an Igniter. Look it at a parts store. No one sell em i think .

My car died down the road. I took it to the nearest shop and they charged my 220 for a piece of shit piece that woul cost lik 25 bux.

my fuel pump would not come one i think its gonna be one of those things that easy to fx but payin for some one to finding the prob lem is gonna bite ya in the ass

The igniter is the ignition control module. The small part in the distributer that has three wires attached to it. They call it an igniter here but it is an ignition module when you buy it. The only parts inside the distributer is the module, coil and pickup assy, rotor and a top dead center sensor which can not be replaced. If your coil, module and rotor is good,(I doubt the pickup assy would be bad), I would suspect the engine TCU has failed.
If you can get a known good distributer to try I would do that first, then an engine TCU. Could be the main relay failed if you haven't looked at that.

You don't want the TCU codes you want the ECM codes, the check engine light will flash for them.

Make sure you have a good connection because it should at least light up solid when you jumper the two terminals. Does it come on for the check when you first turn on the key?
