ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    160 horsepower

This might be a stupid thing to ask, but could some of you help me out with letting me know the cheapest way to get my f22a1 engine up to about 160 horsepower without swappin the motor or anything? (p.s.: ive got a dnx axle-back exhaust, and an aem short ram intake) i ask this because a guy i know i think is getting a scion tc in the summer and the cb7 is lighter, so if i can match the power, then i think i can win a race. by the way, im not blowing my money just to race him, ive been planning on more engine upgrades for a long time. any help with this would be great, thanks in advance.

just because u have the same hp and u are lighter doesnt mean u will beat him. gear ratio's have a big part in races. what type of trannys does each car have?

yea thats true, theres alot of other factors besides weight and power, but generally speaking.....i guess i should say with 160 horsepower i think i can hang at least rather than necessarily win. my car is an auto...most likely the tC will be a stick...but regardless i just wanna get in that 160 range for now

True. AFAIK TC has a 6 sp manual which should be pretty closely geared meaning it should rape a CB7 tranny, unless the dude like skips second gear or something stupid.

I'm not gunna hate on u, It would be koo for u to get to the 160hp range, but the Tc like u said is stock at 160 and the gearing on the auto and manual in Tc's are good BC a stock Tc kept up wit me and it was auto an my car is a Stock 5spd so yea. I beat by like 1/2 car but still, U'll have a better chance converting ur car to manual or gettin that DOHC F22 mann.

Your best bet is to just get the f22b1 and you will save money doing that.
