ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Trans/Clutch issues? Help Please!

Ok what is going on with my car? The clutch engages about an inch off the floor, has a very narrow band where it actually does anything and the rest of the pedal travel is bouncy, loose, and does nothing. Also I have to fight the stick into each gear but it comes out easy enough....WTF is going on here? It's been really cold here lately if that helps. Also the stick has been kinda sloppy once its in gear, jiggles quite a bit even in gear.

You ever try checking if you have fluid in your CMC reservoir?

I know this will sound really dumb and noob-ish (I still haven't purchased a Chilton's manual) but where is it? I took a 30sec peek under the hood before I went to work and didn't see it......I found the PS, Brakes, Wiper fluid, but no Clutch Master Cylinder...

The master cylinder is on the other side of the firewall from the clutch pedal. They are attached. Directly next to the brake master cylinder on the firewall is the clutch fluid reservoir. It looks like a smaller version of the brake master cylinder reservoir.

sounds good, so I don't have to replace anythign expensive, is that what I'm getting here? Its in the single digits here so replacing any parts would really suck, but if its just fluids... is there a leak to repaired or does this just happen sometimes?

ok so I got the manual, is it the little ugly black bottle on the left side of the engine bay under a black box thing? I have to remove that to fill the reservoir?

sorry I forgot to come back, we found it about 5:30 (the comp crapped so we figured it out, I read the cap for it the first time and thought it had something to do with the brakes since it talked about brake fluid. I was a little confused at first. But its all good now, but thanks for the help, and if nothing else it motivated me to finally get a Chiltons manual

If its low just fill it up and pump the clutch pedal a few times. Take off cap and fill. After a few pumps you should feel pressure come back. It has nothing to do with the brakes both are separate reservoirs as you can see if you look closely.
