ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Help! Argh @ Transmission......

Ok guys here's another issue with my car.. I have searched everywhere.. here and other honda sites with no luck or even a mention of my problem..

My car all the sudden wants to keep it's self in the 3500 - 4500 range.. It used to shift fine just hard.. well now it shifts at 4500is rpm.. No matter how hard I'm on the throttle.. even normal everyday putting around.. it's roaring at 3500ish.. I'll gas on it and let off it'll shift and then be fine till I increase the throttle just a hair and bamo down shifts and is back up to 4k. Drives me totally crazy.. What could cause this?
I've changed the TCU, shift solenoids with new oem honda ones, flushed the fluid and has dexrom III with the lubeguard modifier in it to make it compatible with honda fluid..

What in the world would cause it to want to stay in the high rpm's? It's acting like a modulator valve gone bad on a TH350.. ANyone have any idea what in the world it could be?

Kick down cable to tranny sticking in the sleeve? Or maybe out of adjustment?

I had thought about that but I'm not sure on how to check the adjustment... One more thing.. I had remote start put on it saturday.. could that cause some kind of issue?

I was thinking aboyt this and did some reading... would that keep it from shifting into 4th? or staying in the high rpms? it down shifts but it's really touchy.. I read that it needs to be adjusted to .011 THS... Just a matter of converting that to laymens terms.. I don;t have a Micrometer handy...

K well came home for lunch.. the cable was fine but I just disconnected it to see what it would do when it wasn't connected... shifts smoother but doesn't shift till it's at 5500rpm.. and talk about a soft accelerator pedal.. I'm not sure on hot it needs to be adjusted. It's tight and has no slack.. but what happens if it's too tight?

dont know much about this...but I will TRY to see what I can do....you know the throttle body..that thingy that moves the flap inside there...( you know ) that thingy where the cable is on there attached to the gas pedal...anyway, that throttle thingy is probably sticking..mine was sticking badly..and my BF sprayed some PB blaster on it..and it stopped idling at 1600 and back to 800-900 where I think its normal!

could give it a shot...I dunno..I hope this helps!

The only thing I can suggest; get rid of the automatic. Swap in a 5 speed.

I'd rather not.. I'm a lazy bastard. It's not a race car it's a driver. There has to be something that I'm missing.. ANyone think the TCU could cause this? Or maybe the TPS?

I'd check the TCU. They did come from the factory with inferior parts. There is a DIY on it.

I replaced the tcu a couple months ago is the issure and it shifts fine it just seems like something isn't telling it how many rpms it's at. or speed reading. the vss is new and there's no codes from the tranny or ecu coming up. I'm stumped........
