ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Tranny Help Please

Ok so my tranny finally broke down, i took it to AAMCO and here is the diagnostic: code 7 shift selenoid, code 15 mainshaft speed sensor range short, whatever that means, and there's also a burnt odor on the oil with a high pitch noise when is running.

a little info about the problem: when it's cold won't shift and D4 starts blinking, after it warms up it will shift but not all the gears and it takes time to shift to 4th gear. Sometimes it would run smooth like new.

Has anyone been in this situation before? do i need a new tranny? if so anyone in the LA area knows where can i get one cheap? is there another solution to this issue?

    all post would be appreciated

    thanks

I would think that it is a tcu. I asked around and my friend's civic did something similar. He got a new tcu and it worked fine. Idk though. Could be a mechanical problem. Have you searched the error code in google?

If the tranny need to be replaced, now is a good time to do a 5 speed swap. .

          Speedo works fine.

I would love to have a manual transmission but it live in LA and traffic sucks around here, and i would cost me more to do the swap, getting all the parts, etc.

if its the solenoids those are real easy to fix an hour tops, but the main shaft thing i don't know.

Well i took both solenoids today, i tested them and one is bad, i also checked the codes and code 7 is for that solenoid, and code 15 is for the speed sensor, so i am going to the junkyard first thing in the morning and get some used ones to test it, i also tested the TCM and there's nothing wrong with it. i will also get the mainshaft.

here is the link where i got all the info http://techauto.bravehost.com/
