ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    O2 sensor

I was just wondering when the o2 sensor should be changed or how to tell if they have gone bad. Also I was wondering where would be a cheap place to get them at. Thanks!

They will generally throw a code if they are bad. Any specific reason for wanting to change it?

If you went thru an emissions test and you have high HydroCarbon reading , then that's one reason to change your o2 sensor.

Second is when you throw a Code 1 CEL.

I forgot what is the interval. I believe every 60,000 miles? I'm not sure. Somebody correct this.

Sounds reasonable. Also if you shit it up while using Seafoam, and if you unplug it and the engine runs better without its input, might tell ya its a bit off the mark.
Its not really a preventative maintenance item, unless ya got time and money to burn. I don't recall Honda specing an interval for it. Just replace when it no longer functions properly (which could be never).

DO NOT sell in the Beginner Forums.

I'm going to start banning people for doing so.

Also, don't buy a cheap o2 sensor. They don't work properly. Bosch sensors (what you can get at most stores) do not work properly. Go to Honda. If your current one is working properly, you won't need to replace it. If it's not working properly, a good new one will improve your gas mileage and emissions (both good things)

My apologies from me and mugenaccordlx.

Anyway , yeah don't get cheap crap especially bosch. I had bad experiences from them , it only gave me 3 weeks before going OEM honda which is now working perfectly.

yes, that is SOO true about the bosch sensors. I bought a cheap 1-wire one from autozone for $20 (figured hey it might help me pass emissions, can't hurt, right ). Well I did worse then before, with the 17 year old stock one (from my old 88 Civic). Went and got one from Honda, and passed. But I can say the same thing about many autozone parts lol, sometimes the older stock parts are better.

And O2 sensors can get messed up if you've ever had an overly rich condition for any reason I've found. Usually you'll end up with better gas mileage.
