ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

yeah i just got a quick question as well, so when you want to install this cam, all you would need is a chipped ECU and the cam? nothing else is required to make it run and idle properly? ie: beefed up springs or whatever, i'm really not familiar w/ that kind of stuff yet.

it is a regrind of stock f22 cam....most people use delta to regrind the f22 cam on here.

with the delta 272 u dont need upgraded valve springs or retainers....the chipped p06 is for tuning purposes so that u can get the most power out of the cam but it not absolutely necessary ...i have seen some get their car to idle on a pt6.

yup i did a bunch of research before making up my mind weather or not i wanted to it or not, but yeah it might run with out a chipped ecu but then again it might not, plus you dont get everything out of your mods with a stock ecu, so yeah its kinda a must have if your gunna do it, but it can be done with out. and you can run the 272 on the stock valve train. but im gunna up grade springs and everything some day. but i cant wait to put it in! its gunna be sweet!!

You are going to need that p06. d112crzy ran a 272 cam in his F22a with a stock valve train, and if I remember right he had to run a chipped p06 due to it having a horrible idle with the stock ecu.

It's a nice cam. Who did the regrind?

Still miss the CB though......maybe one day.

You don't need to beef up the springs. I'm pretty sure that the 272 regrind doesn't change the lift or if it does it isn't alot. It mainly changes the durration. If you were getting a cam that had material added and then ground for more lift you would deffinetly need new springs.

Im not really smart about ecu's, so what car does the p06 come out of? I just put my a6 cam in last week. Im thinkin of sending my a4 cam away for the 272 grind. I dont really want to find an ecu. It took me 6 months to find the a6 cam. How hard is it to make the F22a4 Ecu work with a 272?

on my 4dr i ran a pt6 with the 272 it idled fine you just have to adjust the air bypass screw on the throttle body. another thing that helps is taking the t/b off and cleaning it and put it back on witha fresh gasket.

It CAN idle well enough with the stock ECU, but getting a chipped P06 and tuning it will make things better... and unlock more power.
