ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

    h22 swap front mount problem

hey i have a 92 accord lx that im swapping a jdm h22a in. everything ive read says to reuse the front accord mount and its a direct fit or what not. but it seems the front accord mount is not lining up with the mount location on the engine. the accord front mount appears too long and it sits further up above the mount location on the h22. so some people say i dont need to use the front mount but id rather use it if i can. does anyone know of any possible reasons this is happening or if anyone is running their swap without a front mount. is it alright to drive it without the mount?

you must use the accord bracket as well.

i would not run with the front mount unless all your other mounts a solid or filled

It was a tight fit on mine. i had to put it in 1st gear then rock the car back and forth while pushing on the bolt to get it in the hole. Not the best way to do it but it worked.

My front mount fits fine... but the shop that did my swap used the Prelude tranny mount, and did a hack job of it. I suppose everything sits fine, but I'm only running 2 studs on the tranny mount! I guess that means my setup doesn't really apply to this situation...

yea from the the looks of everything its all level and we did the tranny mount successfully with the new studs and what not. the front mount actually is straight inline with the mount on the engine but it just sits too high above the spot to bolt to the h22. the car is in a friends garage and i cant remember if he tried the accord bracket, might have to double check that.

has the car ever been wrecked....there may have been some hidden frontend damage

I didnt notice issues with mine until I pulled the engine out

ok from what it looks like the mount is just too tall. it looks like the mount needs to be way shorter, it needs to be like a couple of inches shorter.

^^ Yep. Jack it up a little. When you remove bolt for the mount, even on F22, the engine falls some.
