ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    H22 problem

I just finished swaping a H22 in my CB, but having some problems. I ran both vtec wires to the computer and opened up the secondary intake at all time by a zip tie. Now, the problem is, i don't think im pulling as hard as i think i would with the H22. I have stock CB pipping with DC sport headers, chipped and tuned p28 for slightly modified h22, ACT flywheel, and a intake. Why do you think im not running like im supposed to? I raced an integra and it stayed next to me so i know im not running right, and he's stock because i know him. Can it be the pipping holding me back, do i need to run more wires for more power, do i need stronger fuel pump, or can i be off timing by just a tooth ( i had to do timing myself because the motor came without the belts)????????? Need help....... I wanna run better.

how can that be, when i opened it up it started running better than when it would open on its own by vacum.

well definitely check your timing again. Don't want to ruin a motor by something that simple. But its not the secondarys cause i don't even have the vacuum hooked up so its open at all times and i can definitley beat integras. But honestly the h22 is a little more hyped then what it is. Don't get me wrong it is an improvement but some people think its some big drastic change.

Did you check your ignition timing (at the distributor)?
            Are you throwing any codes?
How do you know you have your ECU program right? If it is off, even by a little, then it can really affect how well your car runs. How did you tune it?

Having the IABs wired open will only hurt the low-end torque (off the line power). They are supposed to be open at ~4800 RPMs anyways, for high end power.

If your car started running better once you opened the IABs, then you might have other issues. It should run well without them open.

            How does it idle?

ITs better to get bigger exhaust pipping. 2.5 inch should help.Like the others said, the IAB is not goign to make a big difference. I never connect mines when i install my H22.

If the ECU wasn't programmed for your motor, I wouldn't run it... at least not very hard. Do you know where the map came from?

The secondaries being open all the time will hurt your low end... and your stock piping will hurt your top end.

The H22 feels much like the F22 until you hit VTEC. It's not like you just dropped a V8 into your car.

I also never hooked up my IAB so that wouldn't be the problem.. but I can DEFINITELY beat stock integras. Actually, they barely pulled on me with my f22. Remember, they're only around 140-150 hp stock (not exactly sure).

Yeah there was some difference before vtec, and I could definitely tell, but it doesn't get crazy until vtec kicks in for sure. But then again I got stronger mounts when I did the swap, so that probably makes a bit of a difference in how it feels.

Sorry i disagree.... The H22 feels nothing like the F22 even before vtec

Eh, maybe i've been exposed to strong F22s

Of course, I never had any mods on my F22, so my low end torque was pretty good. Now I have a 2.5" exhaust system, so my low end is fairly weak to allow for a nice top end. You've got a fairly narrow exhaust, if I recall, Chris... so your low end might seem a bit stronger than mine.

ECU...go get it properly tuned. Thats one big why its not running right. Just because its for a slightly modded h22 doesnt mean its going to work right with your car. Stock piping restricts the car and takes quite a bit away from it because I have experienced it.

Double check vac lines and maybe properly hooking iabs and p13 ecu if you can. That can help see if your ecu is tuned right for your car.But stay on the forum and do alot of searching, bet you alot of folks had similar experiences and you'll find an answer.
